Pool Rules and Conditions of Membership

Membership

Three levels of membership are available. SINGLE - a single adult member; COUPLE - two adult members or a single adult and child; FAMILY - three or more members at least one of whom is an adult. A 10% senior citizen discount applies to senior singles and to couples 65 years of age or older.

For couple and family memberships, all members must be domiciled under the same roof. Members who supply regular day care for their grandchildren during the pool season may include those grandchildren in their family membership. Baby-sitters for children 12 and under may be included in a membership if they are employed on a regular basis.

The names and ages of all members, including baby-sitters, must be listed on all membership applications and renewals.

A recent photograph must be provided with your membership application.

If you have any extraordinary circumstances regarding memberships please contact the Membership Coordinator.

Fees

The type of membership chosen determines dues. Monies collected from dues are applied to the pool's operating budget to cover the cost of salaries, operating expenses, and taxes. The capital contribution is a one-time non-refundable assessment to meet costs of major repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the pool equipment and grounds. The membership dues and capital contribution amount are set annually by the Board, and are published on the Membership Application Form.

Annual membership renewal must be received and paid in full (dues and capital contribution) by April 1. After April 1, new member applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the membership limit is reached. The membership limit is set annually by the Board.

A $35 fee will be charged for all returned checks.

Sign-in and Guest Policy

Members must sign-in upon entering pool premises and wait for verification by staff.

Members must register guests and pay required fees. Failure to report guests and to pay required fees might constitute sufficient reason to revoke membership for the balance of the pool season without refund of fees. Members must remain on pool grounds with their guests. Members are responsible for the deportment of their guests; guests are expected to abide by rules and policies of the Springlake Club, Inc.

Daily guest fees will be posted.

Ten or more guests with a member constitute a party and require prior approval by the manager. Members are responsible for clean up after their parties.

General Pool Rules

All persons using the pool or pool area do so at their own risk and sole responsibility. Management does not assume responsibility for any injury or accident in connection with such use.

All persons agree to save harmless the Springlake Club Inc., its Officers, Board of Directors, Management and Employees from any and all liabilities and/or action of any patron resulting from the use of the swimming pool or pool area.

The pool may be closed at any time due to mechanical breakdown, operational difficulties, inclement weather, special Club events or other appropriate circumstances. The decision is at the sole discretion of Management.

Cellular phone, camera, phone camera, and video camera use is strictly prohibited in all public shower and restroom facilities. Anyone found to be in violation of this policy will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and banned from the facility. This is for each member’s protection as cellular phone technology allows individuals to take photographs without consent.

Talking to lifeguards while they are in the guard chairs is not permitted.

Swimmers must follow the lifeguards' instructions at all times.

No abusive/profane language or breach of the peace will be tolerated. There will be a zero tolerance policy regarding profane language, the use of which will result in immediate ejection from the pool and its grounds by Management.

The Manager/Staff is responsible for the strict enforcement of the rules and have authorization to temporarily deprive any member or guest entry to pool or pool area.

Children

Children under 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult pool member or babysitter.

An adult must accompany (in the pool) a child wearing a flotation device. Flotation devices are restricted to the 3-foot area of the main pool.

Parents/guardians are solely responsible for assessing and knowing their child’s swimming ability.

Prior to receiving approval to swim in the deep area of the main pool, children 10 years or younger must demonstrate their ability to swim unassisted, the width of the main pool, commonly referred to as the “deep end test.” Members must pass the “deep end test” annually; guests must pass the “deep end test” on each visit. Receiving approval to use the deep area of the pool does NOT remove parent/guardian obligations to monitor their child’s use of the pool.

The baby pool is for the use of children 6 years of age or younger. They must be accompanied and supervised (in the baby pool area) by a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES. Older children who act inappropriately or jeopardize the safety of infants and toddlers will be asked to leave the baby pool area.

Infants and children who are not toilet trained are permitted in either the main or lap pools only when wearing swim diapers AND snuggly fitting rubber pants.

Rafts or tubes are permitted in the pool only with the approval of the manager; kickboards may be used at any time in the lap pool.

Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time. No diving until previous diver has resurfaced and has cleared the area by swimming to the ladder. Only one bounce is permitted. Children are NOT allowed to jump to their parents off the diving board. No flotation devices are allowed while jumping from the board.

One person at a time is permitted on the diving board. The weight limit for the board is 250 pounds.

The slide is for swimmers that have passed the deep end test. Swimmers must wait for the area to be clear before climbing the ladder.

Swimmers must use the slide in a feet-first position. Head first sliding is prohibited.

No balls or toys permitted on the slide.

Lap Pool Rules
